Introduction to Racyics’ AMS (Analog Mixed Signal) Engineering Line

Design of complex Hashtagchips is teamwork. Multiple disciplines of integrated circuit design work closely together. Today, we want to shed light on Analog- and Mixed-Signal (HashtagAMS) design.

Our Racyics AMS team plays a crucial role in the design and development of integrated circuits (ICs) that combine both analog and digital functionalities. We focus on leading edge analog design in advanced nodes like the GlobalFoundries® 22FDX®. The work typically involves the following key aspects:

➕ HashtagCircuitDesign Our engineers are responsible for dimensioning, adapting and inventing analog circuits tailored to customer requirements. Examples include voltage and clock references, memories, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), digital-to-analog converters (DACs), drivers, amplifiers, filters, regulators and many more. Complex mathematical modeling, sophisticated simulation, and advanced electronic design automation (EDA) software tools help us in developing high-performance analog circuits.

➕ HashtagMixedSignal Integration When a chip design is assembled from building blocks, we work on ensuring signal integrity and minimizing noise, as well as managing power consumption and electromagnetic interference (EMI). This involves designing robust interfaces, creating models for digital verification, and ensuring compatibility between analog and digital components.

➕ HashtagLayout and HashtagVerification Our holistic design approach starts from functionality as well as from layout constraints, parasitic effects, degradation over lifetime, etc. AMS engineers collaborate closely with our Physical Implementation people, maintaining persistent quality across the design hierarchy. Rigorous verification and testing methodologies are employed to ensure the design meets the desired specifications and performance criteria.

➕ HashtagCustomIP Our AMS designers create robust Analog and Mixed-Signal IP solutions for consumer and automotive applications. This includes customer-specific IP as well as general-purpose Adaptive Body Biasing, SRAM and ROM with advanced power saving features, Digital Standard Cells and IO for low-voltage implementations.

Our AMS Team covers the full range from
➡ classical analog such as bandgap references or DCDC converters,
➡ over SoC Foundation IP
➡ to innovative IP like emerging memories, data converters or ultra-low voltage designs.

This makes HashtagRacyics a one-stop shop for turnkey ASIC design.
