TU Dresden and Racyics build a supercomputer
Dresden − November 11, 2019 −
Technische Universität Dresden secures 8 million EUR funding for building a neuromorphic supercomputer based on Racyics ABBX platform solution for GLOBALFOUNDRIES 22FDX.
The next generation neuromorphic supercomputer SpiNNcloud with 10 Million Arm cores, will be constructed at Technische Universität Dresden. Today, Dr. Eva-Maria Stange, State Minister for Higher Education, Research and the Arts, announced the funding decision. The system is a platform for energy efficient brain simulations and research on future AI and IoT concepts. The SpiNNaker2 chips within the system will be based on GLOBALFOUNDRIES 22FDX technology and employ the Racyics ABBX solution for unparalleled energy efficiency and robust operation at ultra-low supply voltages down to 0.40V. Racyics congratulates the team of Prof. Christian Mayr for this success.
